Powerhouse Museum
Saturday 15th January, Sydney
(with Machine Gun Fellatio):

Our first gig for the new year, and what better a way to start it with one of our fave aussie acts, and good mates MGF. It had been quite a while since we had seen one of their shows, and I was anxious to hear the new set!

As always, they performed a killer set, literally giving me a boner when they performed "The girl of my dreams" (my feelings are on fiiiiiirrrrrrre)

… Anyway, this was our first visit to the Museum, and I can assure you, it has to be the best place for a rock venue in Sydney, FACT!
The reason being, that it was held in the outdoor food-court area, gave the event a vibe, and comfortable atmosphere that an all ages crowd could all enjoy respectively. Not forgetting to mention the availability of alcohol also.

We were the first to appear on the bill, and seeing as though it was the last show for the FMR exhibition, what better a way to finish it by getting up and cutting sick in front of 1000 people or more.

We had another couple of new tracks in the set, which went down great. Although one of them, Addictive, we pretty much f!@#$d beyond all repair, which we ended up just jamming out until the end of the song anyway. ( ahh gotta love the live shit ). Thanks to the Powerhouse museum and all who came to support the FMR acts during the Exhibition.

Esplanade Hotel
Thursday 21st February, St Kilda:

The good ol` Espie, the only pub in Melbourne still putting on fresh talent and big names as well. I sincerely believe that the Espie would be the only venue to with stand a nuclear blast in the music industry, much to the despair of venues such as the Punters Club if you catch my drift.

Apart from being the zillionth time we have played here, it was the first time we had an entirely new set for 2 years. So, with a new set under our belt, and a crowd of new faces, it was time to finally unleash the new shit.

If anyone who was at that show reads this, email me at info@nokturnl.com and express your opinions in any way shape or form. Would love some critical and second opinions. I will reply to nearly all messages, except the dickheads. You no who you are, and so do I!
Cheers…

Manly Fishos
Friday 1st March, Sydney (With Primary):

This is the second time for us to perform at Fisho's, for those of you who don't know, the first time being with Nu-metal titans Superheist. This was one cool gig, if you were there you would have to agree. The first act to perform, "Jesus Sold Acid", I believe, were a mixture between the Cruel Sea, Living End, and the Sex Pistols! Sounded crazy!

We were up next and it was time to see what the Sydney crowd thought of the new tracks(!!???)

Apart from a few minor glitches, we pumped on through the 45 minute set, which seemed more like 20…converting those who had never seen us before, leaving them quite impressed. Especially when the booze kicked in and the inhibitions got kicked out!

Well, now it was time for Primary. The very eager crowd growing in size, and I can tell you now, I was anxious to see them again, after seeing them perform 2 years ago at the Hordern Pavillion for PCMC, which I must admit sounds like shit inside, no matter what band you go and see. So I was in desperate need of another performance. They kicked absolute ass, and sounded brilliant. The new stuff is awesome, and was well received by all. Again slamming the audience with previous hits such as "Vicious Precious" and "This is the sound", The punters definitely got what they paid for, although we were all left there craving for MORE!

VIC ON THE PARK
Saturday 2nd March, Enmore, Sydney:

This was our first time performing at this venue, and considering the size and quality of the system, it maybe the last.

A very quiet night for us, as the rest of Sydney was partying at Mardi Gras. We enjoyed the fact that we didn't have to over-perform and just concentrate on perfecting the new songs before we hit the studios for tracking, and considering we played a very tight set, it was the weeding out process that was most important for us at this particular show. Thank you to the support acts and everyone who did come down to the show, we appreciate your support and dedication.
