August Tour 2001
.......I need to throw myself around endlessly to satisfy my love for the beat!....

Saturday 11th August, Revolver, Prahran:
Definitely my favorite venue to play at in Melbourne, but I think the owners should invest in a goods elevator! I have had many a good night here, I would say it is one of many locals.

Anyway, I didn't manage to catch the first act………… but I am sure they made it piss!

Next up was Another Race. I first saw this band at Offshore when I caught the end of their set, and I was astonished by the talents of the lead vocalist, who can bust a rhyme better than most of the lyricists on the American market I reckon!

Seeing as though this was our last show for the tour, I decided to cut sick in our set
(SORRY) .

We managed to fill the joint half way through the set, this was because of the great sound we can achieve in that room, after doing it several times! Apart from that, Naut, you da man! You sure know how get our sound tight (CHAMP) Thanks once again for a great tour, and Charile , if it wasn't for you bro, I would not have recovered so quick and things wouldn't go the way they did!

CHEERS EVERYONE, See you all next tour…

Friday 10th August, Wool Exchange, Geelong:
I really enjoy playing in Geelong, the support from bands and fans is awesome! Local boys Down To Size did all the Promo, which was an exceptional job, for this gig payed off well.

All of the bands ripped it up again ( OF COURSE ) , with myself ditching "the gimmick" and playing standing up, now that the swelling was down.
Apart from that, it was good to catch up with the locals again, we will be back again soon!

Thursday 9th August, Punters Club, Fitzroy:
I was a bit sceptical about playing this show at first. I say this because of the Tumble I took down the stairs at The Prince of Wales, on Tuesday night which left me with a twisted ankle. I was for a while until I thought, fuck it, I`ll play sitting down! Cause I don't believe in crummy excuses for blowing out a gig, the show must go on! I did so and the show went off, and I must Admit, playing sitting down LIVE sux. I need to throw myself around endlessly to satisfy my love for the beat!

Anyway the show went off with opening act Down To Size. Fourpiece Heavy Rock outfit from Geelong no how to get LOUD! With the seldom Polyrhythm or two, there Flavour of new metal was enjoyable to some extent, although the vocals became a little repetitious after sometime. Great melodys and effects, not to mention arrangements.

Next up was Bison, and fuck did they rock! If any of you havent heard or seen this 5 piece Melbourne Hip Hop/Rock Alternatives sure know how to craft a funky, fucked up masterpiece! These guys are an awesome example of the fresh wave of Australian Slang Style of Rhyming, which I can tell you what is not an easy thing to do! I was sucked in by their groovy vibes from their latest release "Another Level". May you all go out and purchase it, if not order it!

After such an energetic performance, I was nervous as fuck as I knew it was going to extra hard work to get the crowd vibed up with a cripple on the stage! Or maybe that was the gimmick! Everyone had a good sting which I could not help to biteback with lewd and crude remarks (lol).
It was a great show, 130 payers and made some new friends after the show.

Speaking of after the show, Charlie and Myself made our way down to Sing Sing studios and caught up with 28 days while the lads were laying some fresh shit! I wont say anything apart from "Well Wicked", its sounding great, now all you days fans out there have to do is wait! I got a sneak preview and I aint saying jack!

Wednesday 8th August, St. Kilda Apartment:
(*HUNGOVER*)

Tuesday 7th August, Melbourne Uni, (LUNCHTIME):
Anyone who could stomach us for lunch must be a LEGEND! I say this because of the great crowd we pulled. It was something else all right, apart from freezing fuckin cold to say the least! The show started with two contemporary dance groups, which was a great perve indeed!
Anyway, Naut pulled a mad ass sound through the half decent system supplied, and we made everyone listen. I don't think they had a choice either.

Thanks to everyone who did stick around to enjoy the tunes. "May the music inspire" that's what I say!

Saturday 4th August, Kelts Bar, Blaxland:
This is the second time we have played here, and I must admit, this time was better than the first. With the same supports as Thursday, and local support Cherub Mafia, the night was great. All of the bands had a great reaction from the ever growing crowd.

Also, thanks to Cameron and Shaine for putting on this awesome venue, you guys really lok after the acts that come through, this is one venue that we will support for many shows to come!

Cheers…

Friday 3rd August, Blackout Party, Metro Theatre, Sydney:
Something tells me I should keep this one brief.
This show would have to had to of been the biggest anti climax EVER! Especially after the blackout party in January for the Surival performers, the joint was packed out! Considering there was only a DJ on the night, it left me wondering wether or not the live music scene was dying here in Sydney.
The organizers for this event need to get there shit together! (AMATEURS)
Oh yeah, We Kicked Arse! To all 20 of you that were there, thanks for sticking around.

Thursday 2nd August, Manning Bar, University Of Sydney:
We will most definately be coming back to play here again!

The Rider provided at this show would have to be the best any venue has ever supplied us. 1 carton of Crown Lager, 1 carton of VB, a bottle of Jack, 5 packs of Winfield Blue, a case of Mount Franklin, soft drinks, a food platter and a partridge in a pear tree!

Anyway, the show kicked off to a good start with the Adelaide Punk Pop act, Lazaros Dog who are currently doing well with their latest release at 27 on the Net 50. Triple J are flogging it and if its anything to go by, seeing them live is quite an uplifting experience indeed!

Awesome front man, and keyboard player, who reminds me of Graeme Garden from The Goodies. A splitting image if you ask me! As a group, they seem to gel together, making up songs on the spot, and an awesome rendition of Computer Games. Keep up the good work guys!

Next up was Sydney act, Sick Puppies. We first played with the group at the Northpoint Tavern. This was not a true representation of their sound as the system there is a box of snot! Great songs with killer bass lines that left me in awe! With a sound like that, coming from a 3 piece, it keep s you wondering what they will come out with next!

With two great acts kicking off the night, it was without a doubt an inspiring lead up to what we were about to deliver to the crowd. We kicked off the show with Just B, pinning the members of the audience against the wall. This venue has a good system, but if they want this system to last over time, especially with acts using big bottom end samples like ourselves, then I would suggest investing some more compressor/limiter units. What they had was not ample enough to handle our sound!

Saturday 28th July, Styling Up Festival, CJ Greenfield Complex Brisbane:
Well it's been three weeks since we've played together, after the long tour. And seeing as though we hadn't practiced either, our performance wasn't short of surprises.
Our sympathy and best wishes go out to the family and friends of the young boy who was hurt in the incident, which for those of you who don't know, was crushed by a structure which was blown over due to heavy winds. From what I have been told, the boy is still in hospital, with a fractured skull. If you read this mate, we hope you are well.

Although all the acts performed well, The whole event was a spinout!!

Apart from the obvious, the weather was unbelievable. Gusty winds, cold and overcast.
I really don't have much more to comment on about this show.

Thank you to everyone who did show up to support local talent, and of course thanks to our fans who stuck around and made it worth while after such misfortune.
PEACE
